The Buffalo Bills are keeping their defensive anchor, Ed Oliver, for at least the next two years.
On Tuesday, the Bills picked up Oliver’s fifth-year option. That ensures he’ll remain in Buffalo through the 2023 season. The organization had until May 2 to make such a decision, but clearly didn’t need more time to decide.
Oliver has played the first three years of his NFL career with the Bills. He’s totaled 117 tackles and 12 sacks during that span.
The former Houston star is the fourth 2019 draftee to have his fifth-year option picked up.

Other teams around the league have until May 2 to decide on rookie team options. The Bills join the 49ers, Seahawks and Jets as teams who’ve already made such decisions (Nick Bosa, Noah Fant and Quinnen Williams).
Oliver will be tasked with leading the Buffalo defense this upcoming season. The Bills have everything they need to compete for an AFC title and beyond.
