Momentum needs to be maintained
Since being hired as Syracuse Orange head coach, Fran Brown has done everything you could ask of a new coach.
He put together a staff of experienced and rising coaches, added transfers and highly-rated recruits, overhauled the off-field training and created a buzz around the program that’s gone beyond the 315.

With a record-setting attendance last weekend and another round of Dome upgrades, the time is for others at Syracuse to take the baton and run. Over the next four months, it’s imperative that the administration builds on the excitement that fans are feeling now. Marketing, promotions, and trying to make this season ticket transition go smoother than the initial roll-out aren’t Fran Brown’s responsibility, so he needs his teammates to adopt his D.A.R.T. mantra.
As Mike wrote about, Brown wasn’t thrilled with the Quad Walk last weekend.
“It wasn’t the way I wanted it,” Brown said. “I talked to them about it. It was weak. They didn’t do it right. I’m happy for the fans and the people that were there, but the band was supposed to be there. The cheerleaders were supposed to come. Everybody was supposed to be there, completely deep. We told them what time we were coming. It wasn’t set up right.”
You might not think this is going to impact the opportunity for the Orange to get back in the Top 25 or get in contention for the College Football Playoff, but if Syracuse wants to get there the coaching staff needs to be focused on football, specifically recruiting and player development.
This is an important time for Syracuse to make sure “The Loud House” is exactly that when the 2024 season rolls around. Giving away jerseys last weekend was a good idea, but the effort must continue throughout the summer.
Fran Brown has lit the fire and now it’s time for others to make sure it doesn’t cool before the Ohio Bobcats come to town.
