Sabres theme nights for the 2025-26 season

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Sabres announced Tuesday their theme night schedule for the 2025-26 season.

The team will have 17 theme nights throughout the season, starting with the Oct. 9 home opener against the New York Rangers.

See the full list below:

  • Oct. 9: Home Opener vs. New York Rangers, 7 p.m.
    • Festivities begin with a Party in the Plaza as the Sabres walk down the blue and gold carpet to head into KeyBank Center. Rally towels will be given away to fans.
  • Oct. 18: Mascot Madness vs. Florida Panthers, 1 p.m.
    • Several NHL mascots will be at KeyBank Center. There will be a special Sabretooth beanie hat giveaway to fans.
  • Oct. 28: Buffalo Bills night vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, 6:45 p.m.
    • Ahead of the Bills playing the Kansas City Chiefs, there will be several Bills-themed elements and appearances during the game.
  • Nov. 1: Hockey Fights Cancer vs. Washington Capitals, 7 p.m.
    • The Sabres partner with Roswell Park as part of an NHL-wide initiative to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Hockey Fights Cancer scarfs will be given away.
  • Nov. 17: Native American Heritage Night vs. Edmonton Oilers, 7 p.m.
    • The night celebrates Indigenous culture to programming to support Native American groups in Western New York.
  • Nov. 23: Thanksgiving Celebration vs. Carolina Hurricanes, 1 p.m.
    • The Sabres celebrate Thanksgiving, complete with a Sabres butter dish as a giveaway.
  • Dec. 20: Home for the Holidays vs. New York Islanders, 5 p.m.
    • There will be holiday-themed promotions and activities, including a Sabres-themed Christmas ornament giveaway.
  • Jan. 6: Pride Night vs. Vancouver Canucks, 7 p.m.
    • The Sabres celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies.
  • Jan. 14: Mental Health Awareness Night vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 7:30 p.m.
    • The Sabres raise awareness on mental health.
  • Jan. 17: Kids Takeover vs. Minnesota Wild, 12:30 p.m.
    • Kids take over roles like PA announcer and in-arena host. There will also be a Sabretooth building block set giveaway for kids.
  • Jan. 29: Black History Celebration vs. Los Angeles Kings, 7 p.m.
    • The Sabres honor local Black-owned businesses and community leaders and put a spotlight on their stories.
  • Feb. 5: Olympic Sendoff vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, 7 p.m.
    • The Sabres celebrate Rasmus Dahlin, who will play for Sweden in the Olympics, and other Sabres who will represent their countries. There will be a Dahlin collectible pin giveaway.
  • March 7: Youth Hockey Day vs. Nashville Predators, 5:30 p.m.
    • The Sabres celebrate youth hockey around Western New York and Southern Ontario, with a performance sunglasses giveaway.
  • March 8: Girls and Women in Sports Day vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, 6 p.m.
    • The Sabres celebrate the achievements and contributions of female athletes, administrators and fans in hockey and beyond.
  • March 25: Military Appreciation Night vs. Boston Bruins, 7 p.m.
    • The Sabres honor active and former members of the armed forces.
  • April 6: Dyngus Day Celebration vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, 7 p.m.
    • On one of Western New York’s favorite holidays, the Sabres will celebrate with Polka music, Polish cuisine and more.
  • April 15: Fan Appreciation Night vs. Dallas Stars, 7 p.m.
    • The Sabres celebrate their fans with games, giveaways and photo opportunities in their final regular-season home game. There will be a Tage Thompson bobblehead giveaway.
