BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Sabres enter a crucial stretch as they work to build a team that can end their record playoff drought. WIVB News 4 will keep you updated on the latest news on this page.
The NHL draft began Friday night, when the Sabres drafted 6-foot-6 defenseman Radim Mrtka with the ninth overall pick. The draft concludes with rounds 2-7 on Saturday. Free agency opens Tuesday … and there’s nothing stopping the team from making big trades before then, as evidenced by Thursday’s early morning deal that sent JJ Peterka to Utah.
