The Rockets slightly modify their home blues for the 2025 campaign.
Late June and early July are now the best time to reveal new uniforms, and that’s thanks to the EA Sports College Football video game franchise that resurrected last summer.
Teams want their new threads in the game, so it’s best to unveil them before the release date, which is scheduled for July 10 this year. The Toledo Rockets are among those teams, and they became the first MAC school to reveal a new look for the 2025 season.
Toledo released new midnight blue home uniforms Friday. The Rockets have not made any official updates to their white road uniforms or gold alternates yet. It’s not unheard of for a team to update one uniform at a time — for instance, Miami (OH) unveiled new white uniforms prior to the 2024 season but kept its red uniforms from 2023.
Toledo is no stranger to uniform updates. The Rockets overhauled their uniforms in 2022, 2019, 2017, 2014, and 2010 — five times in the previous 15 years. While this one isn’t a full reconfiguration, Toledo released new midnight blue jerseys after donning the previous set for three seasons:

What changed? The changes aren’t extremely noticeable, as evidenced by the 2022-24 midnight blue uniforms depicted below. The most noticeable update is the addition of “TOLEDO” above the number on the front of the uniform. Additionally, the gold collar was slightly modified, as the rocket logo was removed.
Other than that, not much changed. The number font is the same. There is still gold trim underneath the sleeves on the uniforms. “GLASS CITY” remains written on the front bumper. Similar matte blue helmets and all blue pants also complement the new jerseys.

Toledo opens its 2025 campaign on the road at Kentucky, so the Rockets likely wear white to kick off their season. Thus, the most probable debut for these new midnight blue jerseys is Saturday, Sept. 6 when the Rockets host Western Kentucky at the Glass Bowl.
