Once again, the Midwest takes center stage for the future of football, as the Green Bay Packers get set to host the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft. It’s the second time in as many seasons an NFC North team takes the mantle, with Detroit hosting last year’s festivities.
Indianapolis played host to the NFL’s Scouting Combine once again last week, and now teams are in the midst of giving their seniors and early-declarers the opportunity to work out in front of professional scouts to take the next step in their careers.
The MAC was represented by four participants at this year’s Combine— up from two the season before— and player participation in the Senior Bowl, Tropical Bowl and Hula Bowls were also encouraging, an indication of a potentially strong class of candidates even if they have to pursue non-NFL alternatives.
