The storm clouds gather as we’re a week (or two) away from MAC football games beginning in earnest.
Week 2 showed once again the unpredictability of college football, as NIU pulled down a huge win in the national spotlight against Notre Dame to find themselves ranked— and Kent State found themselves on the opposite end, losing a tough one to FCS visitor St. Francis [PA].
Week 3 probably won’t have such extremes, with several winnable games all over the schedule, but notably, just one ranked opponent when Ball State travels to Coral Gables to take on Miami [FL].
(Illinois narrowly missed being ranked in the AP Poll and could likely get it done with a convincing win over Central.)
