Where can you watch ‘classic’ Syracuse games? (week of August 10)

August 11, 2020 by Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Leave a Comment

Donovan McNabb #5...

No. the photographed game is not airing this week. Just needed a good McNabb photo.

No, I don’t know if we’re getting football this fall. I wish I did, so we could plan accordingly. Still, there are other things on TV related to the Syracuse Orange in the meantime.

If you want to watch any of them, we detail those below, all courtesy of the ACC Network. Most of these games are not ones you want to watch this week. But one, in particular, very much is. Here are the Syracuse games you’re able to watch:

(all times ET)

Monday, August 10

Syracuse field hockey vs. Wake Forest (2016 ACC Tournament), 10 a.m. — ACC Network

The defending champs started their ACC Tournament run against the Deacons… and it ended against Wake as well. Wake jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first half, then Syracuse spent the second half evening things up. SU couldn’t finish off the comeback, though, falling in overtime. Just watch the second half and pretend the rest didn’t happen.

Thursday, August 13

Syracuse football vs. Pittsburgh (2019), midnight — ACC Network

You don’t want to watch this again. But Pitt came out firing against Syracuse, and a 24-6 Panthers lead made this one look like another unfortunate blowout in this series. And then the Orange started pushing back. A Taj Harris touchdown narrowed the score to 24-13, and Aaron Hackett made it 27-20 with just under three minutes left. A (potentially) bogus late call robbed ‘Cuse of another chance to tie. So was the story of last season, really.

See above.

Friday, August 14

Syracuse football vs. Boston College (2019), midnight — ACC Network

You already know what happens here.

Nope.

Sunday, August 16

Syracuse football vs. Virginia Tech (1998), 6 a.m. — ACC Network

Syracuse was knocked out of the top 25 following a tight loss to West Virginia. But No. 16 Virginia Tech’s visit to the Dome afterward presented an opportunity to bail them out. And it worked, as you’re certainly aware. Donovan McNabb hit Steve Brominski for game-winner in the 28-26 victory. If you pay enough attention to the after-game footage, you may see Sean Keeley and his mom rushing the field.

More of the same. End your weekend with this, to set you up for a better Monday.
