Tom Brady watch continues on. In the last major update of the saga, ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Brady is operating under the belief that he’ll be with a new team in 2020, and Darlington says he’d be “stunned” if he was a Patriot again.
You can’t rule anything out, of course. The move that still makes the most sense logically is for Brady to be back with the Patriots to finish his career. He still has very strong relationships within the franchise, and there’s no obvious Super Bowl contender he could step in and lead, among the main reported contenders like the Titans, Chargers, Raiders, and Colts.
Brady seems to enjoy the drama of the entire situation. A few weeks ago he teased fans with a black-and-white Instagram photo that looked like it could either signify his return or departure from New England. Instead, it turned out to be a secret Super Bowl commercial for Hulu Live Sports. Just today, an Instagram comment left for Pats rookie receiver N’Keal Harry has some speculating he’s coming back or leaving, depending on interpretation.
This afternoon, Brady will pop up in the sports world in person. One of his favorite teammates will be in tow, as well. Tom Brady and Julian Edelman will be at the Carrier Dome for Syracuse men’s basketball’s home game against North Carolina today. We’re sure Edelman’s presence will spark some further speculation.

The two will be sitting courtside, along with NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon, who went to school in Upstate New York at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Football stars Tom Brady and Julian Edelman and Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon will attend today’s Syracuse-North Carolina men’s basketball game, providing the biggest jolt of courtside star power that the Carrier Dome has seen in a game this season.
The stars will sit courtside with local businessman Adam Weitsman, joining a massive group of notables inside the building for the Orange’s final home game. Weitsman said he connected with Brady, who brought his close friends Edelman and Fallon.
Winning the game will be top of mind for them, but this should be pretty thrilling for Jim Boeheim and his son, sophomore guard Buddy Boeheim, both big Patriots fans. We’ll see if the legendary Orange head coach can get a scoop about Brady’s future.
