TBT Gamethread: Boeheim’s Army vs We Are D3

‘Cuse alums versus Team Division III.

Boeheim’s Army started off its run in the 2025 TBT on a strong note and will look to advance once more in the 64-team, winner-take-all tournament tonight.

A pair of recent Syracuse Orange alums helped guide Boeheim’s Army past the Herkimer Originals over the weekend, winning that game by 26 points thanks to getting more than 20 points from Buddy Boeheim and Elijah Hughes. Up next in the TBT Round of 32 is a matchup with No. 4 We Are D3.

As the name suggests, We Are D3 is a team comprised of former NCAA Division III players. Among the players headlining the roster are point guard Dakquan Davis (Arcadia University and University at Albany), center Alex Sobel (Middlebury College and Sacred Heart University), center David Murray (Connecticut College and Merrimack College) and shooting guard Hank Morgan (Hamilton College).

After picking up its first TBT win last year, We Are D3 is once again back in the Round of 32 after beating No. 5 Layne’s Hope 75-71. Will Boeheim’s Army cruise to another big victory and be one of the last 16 teams standing, or will We Are D3 pull off a little March Madness madness in July?

Tip-off between Boeheim’s Army and We Are D3 is set for 8 p.m. EST. You can catch the game on FS2. The winner of this game will take on whoever ends up on top between No. 3 Green Mountain Men and No. 2 Stars of Storrs.
