The two former Orange will face off against the Liga MX All-Stars.

This seems to be the summer of soccer for former Syracuse players. On the heels of impressive Gold Cup performances and Team of the Tournament selections, both Miles Robinson and Tajon Buchanan have been selected to the MLS All-Star team, set to take on the Liga MX All-Stars on August 25th at 9:00 p.m. The selections are the first for both players.

Robinson, the Atlanta United centerback, has had an impressive year, his fourth with the team, since being selected with the second overall pick in the MLS Superdraft. When not on international duty, Miles has anchored the Atlanta back line with his staunch 1v1 defense. He has also added some distribution to his game over the last season and has a knack for an aerial duel that is tough to match. Coach Bob Bradley was the one adding Miles to the squad, comprised of fan and media voting (13 players), coach selections (13 players) and two commissioner’s choices by Don Garber.

What a week for No. 1️⃣2️⃣‼️

Congrats @_MilesRobinson_, you’re an #MLSAllStar ⭐️

Buchanan has had a breakout season for the New England Revolution. The winger has put in a shift over the year and it’s great to see it paying off. He was selected as one of the three commissioner’s picks to the squad and was well deserving of the honor. Netting three goals so far as well as three assists, he has looked good in his twelve appearances when not on international duty. Buchanan is rumored to be having heavy interest from Europe, including Club Brugge or SC Freiburg. Champions League or mid-table Bundesliga wouldn’t be bad landing spots for the former Orange.

Congratulations to @TajonBuchanan and @_milesrobinson_ on being selected to the @MLS All-Star Game! So far it has been a pretty amazing 2021 for these two very special young men. Wow… ⚽️ https://t.co/vK3cpKGMSb
