Syracuse’s attempt to cut into USF’s early lead in tonight’s Boca Raton Bowl did not go as planned.
Late in the first quarter, the Orange had a 47-yard field goal attempt go awry when a mishandled snap resulted in kicker Brady Denaburg trying to run with the loose ball and make something out of nothing.
Instead, Denaburg was stripped by a USF defender, and Bulls defensive back Aamaris Brown gladly scooped up the gift and raced 64 yards for his team’s second touchdown of the opening frame.
WHAT A PLAY!!!

USF has since gone up 21-0 in the second quarter in this matchup of old Big East foes. The Bulls are looking for their first bowl victory since the 2017 Birmingham Bowl.Â
As for Syracuse, if they can’t get untracked tonight, it will be a disappointing end of the season, but the future in Central New York still seems bright.Â
New head coach Fran Brown has energized the Orange recruiting operation, landing former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord and others in recent days.
