Yes, ‘Cuse’s season is still happening.
If you can believe it, the Syracuse Orange’s 2025 season is still going on.
Not because the Orange didn’t deserve to grab one of the 14 at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament, but because it’s been 12 days since they last took the field and it feels like it’s been over a month.
On Sunday night’s tournament selection show, it was revealed that ‘Cuse earned an unseeded at-large bid and will play the Brown Bears in the NCAA First Round at 4 PM this Friday.

Brown also earned an at-large berth into the tournament after going 10-6 this season with a 4-3 mark in the Ivy League. This will be just the second meeting between the two programs. The Bears are led by former Syracuse assistant, Katrina Dowd, who joined the ‘Cuse staff back in 2012 and helped lead the team to their first-ever national championship game appearance.
SU and Brown are part of the Yale quadrant of the bracket. The Bulldogs earned the tournament’s No. 7 seed, and will therefore host Syracuse, Brown and UAlbany for this weekend’s games in New Haven.
Yale will play the Great Danes in the first game on Friday, followed by the Orange and Bears after that. The winners of each game will play each other in the Second Round on Sunday.
This is SU’s 22nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament, with an all-time record of 28-21 in the big dance. This year, ‘Cuse has gone 9-8 against the No. 1 ranked schedule in the country.
