The 2019 grad is back to help bring the program to new heights.
Regy Thorpe has assembled his team. The coaching staff that will lead that team, anyway.
On Tuesday, SU announced that Nicole Levy has been added to Thorpe’s staff as an assistant coach, presumably rounding out the braintrust for the new era of Syracuse Orange women’s lacrosse.
Welcome home Nicole Levy!

During last month’s introductory press conference, Regy noted that he plans to retain Caitlin Defliese and Maggie Koch from the existing staff, so the addition of Levy completes the quartet.
Nicole will take on the role of offensive coordinator while Defliese remains defensive coordinator and Koch coaches the goalies. She released this statement as part of the announcement:
“It truly is an honor to return home to such an amazing program and what I would consider ‘my dream staff’. This program means so much to me and I am excited to continue honoring the tradition of a creative and competitive environment!”
Nicole’s spent the past three seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Florida Gators, the same staff on which Regy was the associate head coach. They helped lead UF to the national semifinals the past two years. The pair have extensive experience with each other when you combine their three years at UF as well as Regy being the associate head coach at ‘Cuse when Nicole was a player.
Before Florida, she served as the offensive coordinator at Colorado for three seasons, starting the first year after she graduated from SU.
Here’s what Regy had to say about Nicole joining his coaching staff:
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Coach Nicole to our Syracuse Lacrosse family! Her passion for the game is unmatched, and she’s a tireless recruiter with a sharp eye for talent. Nicole also brings a proven track record in player development that will make an immediate impact on our program. Having her return home — where she once excelled as a student-athlete — is incredibly special for our entire community. Our players, staff, and families are lucky to have her back on the Hill, and we’re beyond excited for what the future holds. With Coach Nicole on our sideline, the future of Syracuse Lacrosse is brighter than ever!”
Nicole had an outstanding career playing for the Orange from 2016-2019, finishing as a member of the elite 200-point club with 222 points in a ‘Cuse uniform.
Congratulations to Nicole on the return to her alma mater! We can’t wait to see what comes next!
