A potential rematch versus the reigning champion Huskies is in the cards.

Fans of the Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team are getting some news on what the schedule will look like next year for Felisha Legette-Jack’s squad.

The Orange are one of four teams that will officially be competing in the 12th annual Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase, The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

For the first time in this showcase, which is sponsored by Invesco QQQ, Syracuse and the other three participating teams will compete in a tournament-style format.

Syracuse will play two non-conference games as part of the showcase, which will be taking place at Mohegan Sun Arena (the home venue for the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun) in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Orange will first take on the Michigan Wolverines on Friday, November 21.

Depending on how the bracket plays out, Syracuse will then compete in either the consolation game or championship game on Sunday, November 23. That second matchup will be against either the UConn Huskies or the Utah Utes.

“We are excited to be a part of this year’s Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase! This is a great opportunity for our young women to compete against some of the top teams in the country and experience playing in the home arena of a WNBA franchise,” Syracuse head coach Felisha Legette-Jack wrote in a release. “Orange fans, we will see you at Mohegan Sun in November!”

Tip-off times and TV information will be announced at a later date.

The showcase will certainly provide the Orange with a multiple opportunities to secure a quality win, at least on paper. UConn (No. 1 seed), Michigan (No. 4 seed) and Utah (“Next Four Out”) all earned spots in ESPN’s most recent bracketology update for 2025-26.

There’s also a few other narratives to watch for. All of those three potential opponents also each made the NCAA Tournament this past season. UConn stormed all the way to a championship win, Michigan clinched a six-seed and lost in the Second Round, and Utah earned an eight-seed before falling short in the First Round.

Plus, outside of the Huskies being the reigning victors in women’s college basketball, Syracuse last played UConn during the Second Round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament in what was a thrilling game. There’s a slim chance for a rematch against Geno Auriemma and company.

Tickets for the 2025 Invesco QQQ Women’s Showcase can be bought online through Ticketmaster starting on Friday, September 5 or at the the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office starting Saturday, September 6.

This is also the Orange’s first news in terms of the schedule. As per usual, we’ll keep you up to date as we learn who else coach Felisha Legette-Jack and Syracuse will compete against next season.
