No titles, but a few All-ACC performances
The Syracuse Orange track and field teams continue to focus on individual success over team accomplishments at last weekend’s ACC Outdoor Championships.
Syracuse’s men’s squad finished 15th with 19 points while the women were 16th in the team competition with 8 points. Duke won their first ACC men’s title while Virginia captured the women’s team championship.
Several Syracuse athletes earned All-ACC honors and solidified positions in the upcoming NCAA East Region Championships. For the women. Iaunia Porter (200m) and Emma Eastman (10k) finished fifth in their respective events and were the only two Orange women to score.
On the men’s side, it was Julian Franjeh’s fourth-place finish in the steeplechase that was Syracuse’s top finish. Sam Lawler (5th) and Assaf Harari (6th) placed in the 10k with Xavion Perkins finishing 5th in the 400m hurdles and Emmanuel Joseph’s 6th-place finish in the 110m hurdles completing the scoring.
