In the unlikely event, additions occur
The ever-changing landscape of college athletics makes it unlikely that the Syracuse Orange will add sports in the near future, but if they do we know what Orange fans prefer.
Gymnastics is always popular in the Olympics and several NCAA programs have turned it into a revenue-generating program, so with a smaller roster and relative low start-up costs, it would make sense for a future addition to the Orange Athletics portfolio.
Golf was a clear 2nd choice and personally the one which I think would be the easiest to start at Syracuse. We didn’t get a lot of comments for the “other” choices for women’s sports, so a guess would be a reinstated swimming program, or perhaps the addition of both men’s and women’s wrestling.

As expected, fans were pretty close between hockey and baseball for the men. The Orange have never had a varsity men’s ice hockey program despite the climate. There would be plenty of regional rivals to play, but it doesn’t seem cost effective. Of course, neither does playing baseball, but it’s hard to deny that those two sports would draw the most interest from fans.

Speaking of baseball, it is College World Series time and we do enjoy that the SB Nation National survey shows that fans still want Cinderella to win. Go Racers!
