We’ve got one of the first bits of Syracuse Orange activity in the transfer portal.

According to The Portal Report, Adrian Autry’s staff has reached out to 6’6″, 205 lbs. wing Kobe MaGee, an Allentown, PA native who spent his first three years in college with Drexel.

MaGee is a 2/3 who can move some in the paint but is more comfortable from behind the arc. He led the Dragons last season with 14.0 points per game, also averaging 5.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 43.9% three-point attempts made. Only Gabe Dorsey at William & Mary had a better deep shot rate in the Colonial.

Several other programs, including ACC foes Clemson and Wake Forest, have also contacted McGee.

Drexel transfer Kobe Magee has received interest from the following programs, his advisor tells TPR:

SU shot only 32.5% from distance last season, 13th in the ACC and 245th nationally. It’s an understatement to say they could use help in that area – regardless if Chris Bell returns for his senior year in ‘Cuse or chooses to leave.

Here’s a look at MaGee in the regular season:

SU currently has four open scholarships for the upcoming season, with an NCAA rule change raising the limit from 13 to 15.

Coach Autry has four recruits secured in the freshmen class: Top-40 prospects Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White, Australian combo guard Luke Fennell, and three-star small forward Aaron Womack.

What are your thoughts on McGee? Should Syracuse continue to pursue him?
