Hoping to cash in while in Vegas
NBA Summer League action has kicked off already, so let’s look at which former Syracuse Orange are playing in hopes of landing a roster spot.
While the action hasn’t started in Las Vegas, two former Orange (Cole Swider and Judah Mintz) have been in action in California and Salt Lake City.
Cole Swider: Lakers
Swider had a little run at the end of last year in Toronto, but he returns to the Lakers this summer. He’s already put up three solid performances in California as he hopes to land a spot with LA.
Cole Swider scored 15 for the @Lakers last night. He was named to the All California Classic Team after averaging 19.7 PPG (57.6 FG%, 47.6 3FG%, 91.7 FT%).#CuseFamily pic.twitter.com/IwS16J3Y6A

Judah Mintz: Sixers
Meanwhile in Salt Lake City, Judah averaged 19.3 points per game over the three games while shooting 60% from the field and 91% from the foul line.

Buddy Boeheim: Pacers
The Pacers watched the Thunder win a title after having Buddy on a two-way deal and decided that might be the best approach. Summer League could keep Buddy away from Boeheim’s Army’s TBT opening game, but Orange fans will understand that NBA dreams come first.
Jesse Edwards: Timberwolves
Jesse appeared in two games last year for Minnesota. He played five total minutes and committed two fouls. He’s battling for the 3rd center spot with rookie Rocco Zikarsky.
Quincy Guerrier: Raptors
Guerrier took a leave from his CEBL Montreal Alliance squad to join Toronto. He was averaging 17.2 points and 7.2 rebounds so far in the CEBL season. Last season with Toronto’s G League team he averaged 9.3 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Kadary Richmond: Wizards
Kadary signed with the Wizards for Summer League, so he’ll be looking to find a landing spot. He’s going to team up with former ACC players Bub Carrington, Jamir Watkins and Leaky Black with the Wizards.
