The path is set for the Orange, so let the May-hem begin!
The table is set for May lacrosse, and for the first time in three years, it includes both Syracuse Orange lacrosse teams.
The ‘Cuse women earned the No. 3 seed in the women’s NCAA Tournament and will await the winner of Stony Brook vs. Niagara, while the Orange men received the No. 4 seed in the men’s tournament and will host the Towson Tigers.

The women will host the first and second rounds next weekend in games to be played at the SU Soccer Stadium. As the No. 3 seed, the Orange receive a first round bye and will play the winner of Friday’s game between Stony Brook and Niagara in the second round.
It’s a very interesting and unexpected draw for ‘Cuse. I was shocked to see Stony Brook’s name drawn into the same opening weekend part of the bracket as the Orange, who lost to the Seawolves in overtime in the JMA Dome in early March.
The women will take the field for the second round on Sunday, May 12 at 2 PM at the SU Soccer Stadium.

The men received the No. 4 seed and will host the Towson Tigers in the JMA Dome in the first round on Sunday, May 12 at 7:30 PM.
Not only is this ‘Cuse’s first time in the tournament since 2021, it’s also their first time hosting a game since 2018. They’ll be matched up with Towson, who pulled a massive upset over them in the 2017 NCAA Quarterfinals the last time the Orange reached the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
Towson is on a nine-game winning streak on their way to winning the regular season and tournament crowns in the CAA. They possess the No. 1 ranked defense in the country, which surrenders an average of 8.60 goals per game.
The draws have been made, and now the fun can begin. This was already a crazy first weekend of the month with the conference tournaments, especially on the men’s side, and the intensity of May Madness will only ramp up from here!
