Another NY player kept at home
Fran Brown has made it a point to keep local talent home to play for his Syracuse Orange squad. Yesterday he got a Father’s Day commitment from Quante Gillians, a 2025 recruit.

Gillians plays tight end and defensive line for Aquainis Institute in Rochester, where he is coached by former Orange wide receiver Maurice Jackson. He is rated a 3-star recruit and is considered a top-5 player in New York by 247 and Rivals. It sounds as though he was recruited by the Orange as a defensive end.
He had offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Pitt, SMU, and Boston College, but will head down the Thruway to become the 22nd member of Syracuse’s 2025 class, as well as the 8th commit from New York.
