and Zeed Haynes enters the portal

The transfer portal will be closing soon but the Syracuse Orange are still looking to add to the 2025 roster.

Reports indicate that two Florida State players visited Syracuse this week. Wide receiver Hykeem Williams and guard TJ Ferguson were on campus.

Florida State offensive guard transfer TJ Ferguson is set to visit Syracuse Sunday-Tuesday, his agency @APSportsAgency tells @CBSSports/@247Sports.

Ferguson started his career at Alabama. Last year he was considered the 9th best interior lineman in the portal by On3, but after FSU’s disaster, his ranking is lower. Williams was a top-40 recruit out of high school. In his two seasons with the Seminoles, the 6’2 215 pound receiver caught 21 passes for 267 yards and two scores (including one against the Orange in 2023).

They were joined by Sam Houston State OL Orion Irving according to a report from Mike McAllister. The 6’6 310 pound Irving has two seasons of eligibility left and was on the Conference USA All-Freshman team in 2023. Irving is also scheduled to visit Ohio State.

Another visitor is expected this weekend- Kam Pringle, a tackle from South Carolina. Pringle was a redshirt last year and was a top 300 recruit in the 2024 class.

South Carolina offensive tackle transfer Kam Pringle is set to visit Syracuse Sunday-Tuesday, his agent @AustinDubWilson tells @CBSSports/@247Sports.

Fran has his quarterbacks but he’s still looking to improve the line and receiver depth. Speaking of receivers, “retired” Syracuse WR Zeed Haynes entered the portal. We might find out more of what happened when Haynes chooses a new school.
