‘Cuse adds a fifth-year corner to reinforce the secondary
Going into Syracuse Orange spring camp, the corner position seemed to be the one most lacking a veteran presence. Adding this super senior should address that issue.
Edison, New Jersey native Clarence Lewis, who spent the last four years at Notre Dame, will join Fran Brown’s ever-growing influx of talent to ‘Cuse:

Lewis was a Top-60 corner out of high school and found playing time quickly in South Bend, making six starts as a true freshman and doubling it the next year by slotting outside for all 13 Irish games. However, he later lost the starting job and spent the past two years mainly rotating in.
All-in-all, Lewis appeared in 51 games (starting 23), picking up 124 tackles, 21 pass breakups, three interceptions, including a pick-six, and three forced fumbles. Although he’ll have a little catching up to do over the summer, the 6′, 200 lbs. Lewis should be a strong contender for one of the corner spots in Syracuse.
This is the 14th transfer Brown’s staff has brought in and the 37th new player overall. 10 of the 23 incoming freshmen enrolled early and have been on campus for camp.
