A homecoming for the Orange QB
Now that the NFL Draft is over, we’ll look at the former Syracuse Orange to see how they fit in their new homes.
Next up is quarterback Kyle McCord, drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 6th round with the 181st pick in the Draft. It’s a homecoming for McCord and he becomes the 3rd Syracuse quarterback to be drafted by the Eagles following Don McPherson and Donovan McNabb

McCord initially slots in as battling Dorian Thompson-Robinson for the 3rd quarterback spot behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee. McKee appeared in two games last year, starting the final Eagles game where he completed 27 of 41 passes for 269 yards and 2 touchdowns.
It seems likely that Kyle will begin the year on the Eagles practice squad, but his new Head Coach was happy to have the Syracuse QB in the fold.
“What really stands out is how quickly he moves through progressions and how quickly his mind works. Really excited to work with him,” coach Nick Sirianni said.
Syracuse fans might see Kyle play much beyond the pre-season, but he enters a situation which could be good for his long-term career prospects.
