The matchup will be the Orange’s 12th game all-time versus the Fighting Irish. It will be Syracuse’s first true road game in South Bend since the 2020 season. Fun fact: Syracuse’s last ever win versus the Fighting Irish came on the road and on November 22 (it also featured a wild, 13-point comeback in the fourth quarter).
The Orange’s last matchup against Notre Dame came during the 2022 season in the JMA Wireless Dome. Syracuse lost that game 41-24.
The Notre Dame game will be Syracuse’s last road game of the 2025 regular season. The key for the Orange is this game will take place after a bye week.
Including Notre Dame, the Orange are also set to play three other programs who earned a spot in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff — Clemson, SMU and Tennessee.
Syracuse will open its season versus the Volunteers on Saturday, August 30 in Atlanta. The Orange’s home games include UConn, Colgate, Duke, Pittsburgh, North Carolina and Boston College. Road games will be against Clemson, SMU, Georgia Tech and Miami (FL).
