For the fourth day in a row, men’s lacrosse increased their 2022 haul, this time with the first two defenders in the class.
I’m going to start calling this my daily men’s lacrosse recruiting update.
One day after securing the commitment of the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2022, Joey Spallina, the Syracuse Orange men’s lacrosse program is at it again.
For the fourth (yes, FOURTH!) consecutive day, the Orange have added to their 2022 class, this time welcoming two new names.
Those names belong to a pair of 4-star defenders in Chuck Kuczynski and George Wandoff.
Kuczynski comes from Allentown Central Catholic High School in Allentown, PA.

From the video I’ve seen and what I’ve read online, Kuczynski sounds like an aggressive defender who is an absolute nuisance for any offensive player he lines up against.
He discussed his commitment to SU with Sports Illustrated’s Syracuse page, and cited the impact that primary recruiter Lelan Rogers and head coach John Desko had on his decision.
“He (Rogers) was pretty important,” Kuczynski said. “He’s a great guy, a lot of energy. He really understands the game. He has a great plan set up for the defense right now. He (Desko) was definitely involved in my recruitment. I had a few conversations with him. Coach Desko is an amazing guy and I really enjoyed talking to him.”
He’s joined by fellow 4-star long-pole George Wandoff from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, FL.
4⭐️ junior George Wandoff ’22, D, Oxbridge Academy (Fla.) / @Sweetlax_FLA has committed to @CuseMLAX. A promising prospect at 6’3, 190 lbs., the @ILInvitational All-Star is a pest with his 1-on-1 play and tremendous stick work: https://t.co/Zj3UriXsi4 pic.twitter.com/iqFjTlmbCF

Wandoff has good measureables standing at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, meaning he’s got ready made size to be an ACC defender. Plus, he’s got two years to add to his bulk before he arrives at SU.
Like Kuczynski, Wandoff discussed his decision with Sports Illustrated’s Syracuse page, and also like Kuczynski, he credited the Orange staff with convincing him that Syracuse was the place where he wanted to be. He even went as far as to refer to defensive coordinator Lelan Rogers as a ‘father figure’.
“He seemed like a father figure quite honestly,” Wandoff said. “He told me to do my homework on every school, not only Syracuse, to give me the right fit…the leadership of the program sold me on the university.”
With Kuczyński and Wandoff, the Orange have now added five commitments in the last four days. The 2022 class currently has eight commits, including two 5-stars and four 4-stars, according to Inside Lacrosse’s recruiting database.
There will be much more to come from the Class of 2022, but in the first two and a half weeks, Syracuse has put together one of the strongest classes in the country based on star rankings.
