Longtime Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton continued his reputation as the epitome of class after today’s blowout loss to Syracuse in the ACC Tournament.
In the first half of a game that would ultimately see the No. 9 seeded Orange rout the No. 8 seeded Seminoles 96-57, Syracuse star Buddy Boeheim appeared to hit Florida State guard Wyatt Wilkes with a closed-fist cheap shot to the chest.

Florida State fans were outraged by this act, but it appears the 73-year-old head coach has already moved on.
“There’s not a better kid in the ACC than Buddy Boeheim,” Hamilton said after the game, per FSU insider Carter Karels. “We are going to move on and let how well they played be what people talk about related to this game.”

Boeheim, the son of legendary Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim, finished this year’s regular season as the ACC’s scoring leader. Today he chipped in 12 points, six rebounds and two assists as his team rolled to an easy victory.
With a pure display or wire-to-wire dominance, the Orange shot 51.4% from the field and out rebounded the Seminoles 52-35.
Syracuse will face off against the No. 1 overall seeded Duke Blue Devils in tomorrow’s third round of the ACC Tournament.
