Speeding East on 90 from Buffalo
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Ja’Meer Thomas
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 169 lbs.
Hometown: Buffalo, NY
High School: Bennett
2024 stats:
Appeared in two games for the Orange. Rushed twice for a total of two yards.
2025 projections:
Thomas is going to be one of the players competing for some of Trebor Pena’s snaps in the slot. He brings speed and versatility and is someone the staff could also use in the return game this season.
How’d he get here?:
Chose the Orange over offers from Akron, Maine and Stony Brook.
What’d recruiting sites say?:
Three stars from 247, ESPN and Rivals.
Instagram: @tizz__2
Winners Get Washed:
Duke Cannon’s Thick Body Wash inspired by Buffalo Trace – opposing defenders can get a whiff of bourbon as they are left grasping for air as Thomas runs by.
Interesting nugget o’interest:
Thomas is one of only three Buffalo public school players to win the Connolly Cup for Most Outstanding Player in Western New York. The last to do it was Green Bay Packers linebacker Isaiah McDuffie.
