Size increases in the trenches
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Chris Thomas
Position: Defensive Line
Year: Redshirt Senior
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 327 lbs.
Hometown: Tallahassee, FL
High School/Previous College: Dunbar / Florida / Marshall
2024 stats (Marshall): Played 13 games at Marshall. Recorded 42 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, one sack, four QB hurries and one fumble recovery.
2025 projections: At the very minimum, Thomas will be a good depth option for a Syracuse defensive line that Elijah Robinson likes to rotate often. His size could push him up the depth chart into a more prominent role, depending on how many defensive tackles the Orange decide to use.
How’d he get here?: Following the Marshall exodus from this past season, Thomas committed to Syracuse in December of 2024.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Consensus three-star transfer. A four-star recruit in 2021 by On3 and ESPN.
Winners Get Washed: AXE Anarchy Body Wash – It seems like Anarchy is in the near future when Thomas steps onto the gridiron.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Thomas’ high school of Dunbar has produced an NFL talent in Deven Thompkins. He went to college at Utah State and has featured for Tampa Bay and Carolina in the pros.
