It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.

Name: Ethan Stangle
Position: Long Snapper
Year: Redshirt Junior
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 211 lbs.
Hometown: Bel Air, Maryland
High School: John Carroll
2024 stats: Took over long-snapping duties in the Holiday Bowl, where the Orange went a combined 6-of-7 on field goals and extra points.
2025 projections: Tom Callahan’s seven-year collegiate career came to an end in 2024, so Stangle should fill in as the Week 1 starter this season.
How’d he get here?: Chose the Orange over an offer from Charlotte.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Coming out of high school, Kohl’s Kicking Camp rated him 13th in the country at his position, while Rubio Long Snapping had him 46th.
Winners Get Washed: Old Spice Swagger with Cedarwood, Long Lasting Scent — Of course, a long snapper needs a long-lasting body wash. Swagger doesn’t hurt, either.
