Picking up where his big brother left off
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Next up is…
Name: Fatim Diggs
Position: Linebacker
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 219 lbs.
Hometown: Camden, New Jersey
High School: Eastside
2024 stats: Appeared in three games on special teams and as a reserve linebacker, recording two tackles in the Holiday Bowl against Washington State.
2025 projections: Competition at the backup linebacker positions is wide open, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Diggs spend some time there. The bulk of his playing time will probably be on special teams in year two.
How’d he get here?: Chose the Orange over offers from Penn State, Maryland, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Boston College and Virginia.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from 247Sports, On3 and ESPN, two from Rivals.
Winners Get Washed: Brother Friend Body Wash — Causing havoc on the defensive side just like his brother, Fadil, did last year for SU.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Fatim actually committed to the Orange first in the winter of 2023 and then convinced his older brother Fadil to follow him. Fadil led Syracuse with 7.5 sacks last season and was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Maybe Fatim can follow suit?
