One last ride for the Coffin Corner Cowboy
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Next up is…
Name: Jack Stonehouse
Position: Punter
Year: Redshirt Senior
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 197 lbs.
Hometown: Camarillo, California
High School/Previous College: Chaminade/Missouri
2024 stats: Appeared in all 13 games, punting 33 times for 1,509 yards. Ten of those went for more than 50 yards, and 11 were downed inside the 20-yard line. Earned Honorable Mention All-ACC Team honors.
2025 projections: Stonehouse will be SU’s punter for his third and final season with the Orange. He’s been one of the most consistent special teamers in the conference and currently has the highest net punting average in Syracuse history (45.0).
How’d he get here?: Transferred to the Orange after his freshman season at Missouri in 2022. Initially committed to the Tigers over offers from Arizona and Washington State.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Two stars from Rivals, ranked No. 7 punter in the 2021 Kohl’s Kicking rankings.
Winners Get Washed: Harry’s Stone Body Wash — Suits his surname well, and you could also argue that his punts have provided “squeaky clean freshness” to the Orange special teams.

Interesting nugget o’interest: The Stonehouse family tree has a long history of successful punters. Jack’s father punted for USC and was signed by the New York Giants. His uncle also punted at Stanford, and his cousin, Ryan, is the current punter for the Miami Dolphins.
