It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Jakhari Williams
Position: Quarterback
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 203 lbs.
Hometown: Macon, GA
High School/Previous College: First Presbyterian Day School
2024 stats: Redshirt year.
2025 projections: Williams battled for the starting job in the spring, but the arrival of Steven Angeli looks to push him down to the #3 spot this year. Williams shows flashes, but comments from practice indicate that he needs to improve on consistency. With both quarterbacks ahead of him completing their third year, Williams’ development could be critical.
How’d he get here?: Originally committed to Georgia Tech before switching to Syracuse. Also had offers from NC State, Pitt, and Virginia Tech among others.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three-star and considered a Top 50 QB by 247, Rivals and ESPN.
Winners Get Washed: Sweet Peach and Nectar from Native – “Notes of peach and soft jasmine blend with citrus and leafy greens.” to make those Syracuse days feel a bit more like home.
