The former top-10 New Jersey prospect looks to make an impact after redshirting last season
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Next up is…
Name: Jaylan Hornsby
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 213 lbs.
Hometown: Winslow Township, New Jersey
High School: Winslow Township
2024 stats: Appeared in four games, making two catches for 21 yards.
2025 projections: After preserving his redshirt last season, Hornsby will definitely be in the mix as a pass catcher in year two. Expect him to compete with Emanuel Ross and Ta’Ron Haile for second-string snaps.
How’d he get here?: Jaylan flipped to the Orange and de-committed from Texas A&M after the hiring of Fran Brown.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars across the board.
Winners Get Washed: Youth to the People Body Cleanser — With an extra year of eligibility in his pocket, Hornsby looks to thrive again as a “youthful” freshman.
