The senior looks to be a staple of the secondary in year three
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look ateach Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Next up is…
Name: Berry Buxton III
Position: Defensive Back
Year: Redshirt Senior
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 200 lbs.
Hometown: San Diego, California
High School/Previous College: Olympian/Santa Barbara City College
2024 stats: Buxton appeared in 10 games and started five of them, including the regular season opener against Ohio. Finished with 22 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.
2025 projections: The senior should get the starting nod in one of the secondary positions this season (most likely nickelback). Buxton’s still without an interception through 19 games, but I expect that to change with more stable playing time.
How’d he get here?: Transferred to the Orange with three years of eligibility in 2023 after his time with SBCC.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three-star ranking from 247Sports.
Winners Get Washed: Method Berry Balance Body Wash — Giving Buxton all the additional berries he needs to be a force in the secondary.
