More track speed in the Dome
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.

Name: Malachi Coleman
Position: Running Back
Year: Freshman
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 180 lbs.
Hometown: Roanoke, VA
High School: William Flemming
2024 stats: Set the school record for career rushing yards. All-State in both football and track. Joined Syracuse in January and was part of the Orange’s 4x100m relay team during the outdoor track season.
2025 projections: Coleman is another skill player with speed so expect him to get every opportunity in camp to his way into offensive packages as a back or kick returner. He might have to wait a year to get into the rotation but we know that Fran Brown likes to get as much speed on the field as he can.
How’d he get here?: Signed with Syracuse over offers from Air Force, Old Dominion and UConn
