It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Jahide Lesaine, Jr
Position: Linebacker
Year: Sophomore
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 239 lbs.
Hometown: Newark, NJ
High School: Irvington
2024 stats: Appeared in 12 games for the Orange, making two tackles.
2025 projections: The fact that Lesaine was used on special teams last year could indicate that he’s got a stronger shot of cracking the two-deep this Fall. Syracuse has some holes to fill at linebacker and we could see a deeper rotation used now that Wax and Barron have graduated. Look for Lesaine to be involved in pass rush situations this season.
How’d he get here?: Originally committed to Kent State, but flipped to Syracuse. He also had offers from Pitt and Ole Miss
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three-stars on 247Sports, On3 and ESPN; two-stars on Rivals.

Winners Get Washed: Bath and Body Works’ Whitewater Rush– when you have a disruptive pass rusher, you want to let them churn up some turbulence on the offensive line.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Alumni from Irvington HS include Jerry Lewis, Raheem Morris and Queen Latifah
