A veteran at defensive end
It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Denis Jaquez Jr.
Position: Defensive Line
Year: Senior
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 254 lbs.
Hometown: Pennsauken, NJ
High School: St. Augustine Prep
2024 stats: Played ten games, making five starts. He had 23 tackles and 2.5 sacks
2025 projections: Now that the Orange are without Fadil Diggs, they will be looking for Jaquez to take another step forward. He’s shown flashes over his Syracuse career and now as a senior he will be asked to be a leader on the defense.
How’d he get here?: Jaquez was originally committed to Northwestern, but he flipped to Syracuse on signing day.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars all around. A consensus top-21 player in New Jersey.
Instagram feed: @jaquez_denis
Winners Get Washed: Power Body Wash by Artius Man– promises a euphoric clean, which is probably the kind of feeling you also get from driving a quarterback into the turf.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Pennsauken Township is located across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.
