Syracuse secures a talented forward out of North Carolina.
The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program secured its first commitment in the class of 2025 as Sadiq White announced his commitment to Adrian Autry. White, a 6-foot-8 forward, chose Syracuse over a final list of Alabama, Georgetown, LSU, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina.

White is ranked No. 31 by On3, No. 30 in his class by ESPN and No. 25 by 247 Sports. He’s a consensus four-star recruit out of Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. In his commitment stream with On3, White mentioned his relationship with the Syracuse coaching staff and how Autry “never missed a game” of his. White also held place for the appreciation he received on his visits.
“The people embraced me on my visit,” He said. “It was crazy the love I got out there.”
White most recently took an official visit to Syracuse back on Feb. 24 on Jim Boeheim Day when the Orange hosted Notre Dame. In a recent interview with zagsblog.com, White touted the relationship with the Syracuse coaching staff.
“Those guys have been consistent with me since Day 1 since they started recruiting me,” White said. “Just the genuine love they show, the relationship that we built has been very, very strong at the moment, and I’m just continuing to build with those guys.”
Syracuse is gearing up for what should be a significant class of 2025 in both numbers and talent. Autry and his staff are in heavy pursuit of Kiyan Anthony, son of former Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony, and his backcourt mate Tyler Jackson. Both Anthony and Jackson play on Team Melo.
White, who runs with Team United in AAU, is a versatile forward who can guard multiple positions — fitting the mold and style of modern basketball Autry intends to play at Syracuse.
