A pair of familiar faces are ready for more TBT action.
Two well-known Syracuse Orange men’s basketball alumni and TBT veterans will officially be returning to Boeheim’s Army for this year’s tournament.
Chris McCullough and Rakeem Christmas will be joining Boeheim’s Army and competing in the 2025 TBT, which will be taking place during the summer.
McCullough served a key role on the 2021 roster for Boeheim’s Army, which went on to win its only TBT championship. He also played on the 2023 team that dealt with an early loss in the team’s second game of the tournament. That year marks the last time Boeheim’s Army competed in the TBT.

After playing one year for the Orange, McCullough was taken No. 29 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. After bouncing around the NBA and the G League, he continued his basketball career overseas.
Like Christmas, McCullough is also a familiar name for Boeheim’s Army fans. Christmas was most recently part of the 2023 Boeheim’s Army roster. Christmas played four years for Syracuse and peaked with All-ACC first team and third-team All-American honors in 2015. He was picked No. 36 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, and likewise continued his player career following a brief stint in the league.
Combined, the duo should bring some stability to the roster’s frontcourt. Christmas will be tasked with anchoring the paint, while McCullough will hope to bring rebounding and scoring juice to the team.
The 2025 Boeheim’s Army team now stands at four players, all of whom are Syracuse basketball alumni. In addition to the McCullough-Christmas pairing, Buddy Boeheim and Elijah Hughes are also joining this year’s roster for the winner-take-all tournament.
Syracuse will serve as one of the eight host regions for the 2025 TBT. The Syracuse Regional will be held at Onondaga Community College’s SRC Arena from July 19 to July 23.
Tickets for this year’s TBT go on sale Tuesday. The first hosting team to sell 4,000 tickets will have homecourt advantage for the entire tournament.
