Wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie got awful close to the free agency market.
Instead of testing the waters and seeing what’s out there when the “tampering period” opened on Monday, he re-signed with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
McKenzie, 26, kept it pretty simple as to why he ended up back in Buffalo. That’s what he felt was right for him in the end.
“I really wanted to be here,” McKenzie said. “It didn’t take much for me to be back. I really like being here. I really like being on this team.”
In addition, there was another layer for the receiver and return man: Loyalty.
McKenzie said he gets that from the Bills. He wanted to give it right back by not playing hard ball and coming back.
Check out McKenzie discussing that via WIVB-TV below:
“For me it’s about loyalty and the Buffalo Bills have been loyal to me and I want to stay loyal to them. We have a lot of great things going on here.” @_IsaiahMcKenzie on why he didn’t want to test free agency as he signs a two-year deal with the #Bills this time around. pic.twitter.com/BoM6mAuwYy
