What could cause the Buffalo Bills to stumble in 2025?

The Buffalo Bills are one of the betting favorites to not only reach the Super Bowl but win the final game of the NFL season. So what teams could stand in their way? What could cost the Bills the AFC East or the conference?

Injuries are impossible to predict around the league. The New England Patriots won 16 of 17 AFC East titles from 2003 to 2019 with the lone year absent being the one Tom Brady was injured in Week 1. I don’t even want to think about Mitch Trubisky or Mike White running the offense on a weekly basis, so we’ll focus on teams fighting up to take a spot from the Bills.

AFC East contenders

The Miami Dolphins have been knocking on the door of being a good to really good team recently, but I am not sold on them in 2025 or beyond. The New York Jets are going to take some time to reset, but at least Justin Fields will give them a puncher’s chance. The New England Patriots feel like a team that could take a leap in 2025. They have a talnted young quarterback, an experienced head coach, and used a lot of cap space to remake their roster in key spots.

Can any of the AFC East teams topple the Bills in the division?

AFC playoff picture

The Kansas City Chiefs have stayed ahead of the Bills in the playoffs under Sean McDermott. The Baltimore Ravens had a few own-goals to fall to the Bills in last year’s playoffs. The Cincinnati Bengals dismantled the Bills a couple years ago in the postseason.

Do you think one of these teams would give the Bills trouble in the postseason? Is there another team that should be on Buffalo’s radar?

Super Bowl opponents

The Philadelphia Eagles defense is legit. The Washington Commanders have another year with the dangerous Jayden Daniels. The Detroit Lions will still be good despite losing their two coordinators. Are you worried about the Minnesota Vikings or Green Bay Packers in a potential Super Bowl? The Rams are one of the teams to beat outscore the Bills in 2024, but they lost Cooper Kupp this offseason. Can the 49ers play their way back to the big game?

So which team from the division, conference, or NFC is the biggest threat standing in the way of the Bills’ first Super Bowl in February 2026? Lets us know below.
