Earlier today, Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued on charges he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend.

Miller turned himself in to the Glenn Heights Police Department before being processed at the DeSoto Police Department and bonded out on $5,000.

According to WFAA, the police affidavit alleges that during an incident that began Wednesday morning, Miller pushed his girlfriend and “twice wrapped hands around her neck.” In her 911 call, the woman said Miller was “choking and hitting me” and pulled her hair out.

However, in text messages with WFAA, Miller’s girlfriend later denied an assault took place and downplayed the conflict.

“We’re fine,” she told WFAA. “Things were blown way out of context. This is actually outrageous!”

The woman also called the incident a “verbal disagreement” and a “huge misunderstanding before adding that “no one assaulted anyone.”

The argument between Miller and his girlfriend apparently began because she did not want to travel for her birthday this week.

The affidavit said the alleged victim went from the bedroom to the office of the home and slammed the door out of anger. Miller then became “visibly angry,” the affidavit said. He went into the office and yelled at his girlfriend to “get out” of the apartment, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit said the girlfriend “attempted to comply” with Miller’s request to leave the home, but wanted to gather some items before leaving. As she did this, the affidavit said, Miller “began to shove and push her, all while telling her to leave from the unit.”

Miller then allegedly put a hand on the woman’s neck and applied pressure for “three to five seconds.” He’s also accused of taking her phone and throwing her laptop on the floor and stomping on it.

Miller’s girlfriend was reportedly treated for minor injuries at the scene and told responding officers she is six weeks pregnant.

A DeSoto, Tex. native, Miller is in his second season with the Bills.
