Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce wasn’t quite as furious as Patrick Mahomes was after Sunday’s loss to the Bills. But the on-field microphones picked up some audio indicating that he was disappointed nonetheless.
After the Bills won the game, Kelce met Bills quarterback Josh Allen at midfield. Allen was impressed by the incredible lateral play from Kelce to Kadarius Toney that was ultimately called back and Kelce lamented that it didn’t count.
“That was the craziest s-t I’ve ever seen in my life,” Allen said.
Kelce responded, “Craziest one that’ll never count. Hey, stay healthy, baby. Keep doing your thing. Way to fight, man.”

The play in question was a downfield pass to Kelce that he then lateraled to Toney a la the iconic Music City Miracle play in the 1999 playoffs and Toney ran it in for a touchdown. But Toney was flagged for being offsides and so the play was negated.
It was a disappointing result that has dropped the Chiefs to 8-5 and losers of four of their last six games. They are only one game ahead in the AFC West and two games back for the top seed in the AFC.
Will the Chiefs mentally recover from this loss?
