When Travis Kelce threw up the heart hands to celebrate his first touchdown in Sunday’s playoff win at Buffalo, many people assumed it was a gesture to girlfriend Taylor Swift, who was in attendance.
However, on the latest episode of his “New Heights Podcast” with brother Jason, Travis said it was actually meant for Bills fans who had been trash talking.
“I had to spread the love, baby! You always got to spread that love, baby,” Kelce said. “There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium, man.
“Understandable. It’s a football game. The Bills, coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy. Did it get a little disrespectful? One thousand percent. Did it get a little extra? One thousand percent.”
Kelce would not say what exactly was said, just that things were said about the Kelce family and Patrick Mahomes. The comments can be found around the 24-minute mark in the podcast below.
Kelce and the Chiefs wound up getting the last laugh, beating the Bills 27-24 to advance to a sixth-straight AFC Championship Game.
They’ll aim for a fourth trip to the Super Bowl in the last six years when they face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
