Buffalo Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was an important recruiting tool for the team during free agency.
Defensive tackle Tim Settle was signed off the Washington Commanders roster via a two-year deal.
Edmunds factored into the discussions. Buffalo general manger Brandon Beane confirmed that during his free agency press conference.
The way Edmunds did was simple.
Edmunds and Settle were teammates at Virginia Tech and both declared for the 2018 NFL draft. Edmunds went to Buffalo in Round 1 while Settle was a fifth-round pick to Washington.
Per Beane, Edmunds gave the seal of approval.
Settle sure seemed thankful for that–and happy to reunite with his former teammate.
After signing on the dotted line, Settle took to his social media account via Instagram and posted this image of him and Edmunds exchanging jerseys after a past game. The message he wrote above it says it all:
