There’s Growing Mitchell Trubisky Speculation: NFL World Reacts

March 2, 2022 by The Spun

Mitchell Trubisky walks on the field before a game.

It’s becoming increasingly evident that Mitchell Trubisky will get a second chance next season. On Tuesday, ESPN’s Matt Miller said the former No. 2 overall pick is the topic of conversation inside NFL circles.

“I’ve talked to more NFL teams this week about Mitchell Trubisky than the 22 QB class,” Miller tweeted. “I think that says a lot.”

This past season, Trubisky was the backup quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. He had a chance to learn from Josh Allen, Brian Daboll and Ken Dorsey, while also taking some time to evaluate his shortcomings with the Chicago Bears.

Even though Trubisky struggled in his first stint as a starter, there’s a chance that he could look much better the second time around.

While we’re unsure how Trubisky will perform next season, it sounds like a lot of fans will be in his corner.

“Trubisky will be a fun case study next season if he is given a chance to start somewhere,” one fan said. “Time to see what he can do without Nagy’s playbook.”

“I’m very much intrigued by the recent trend in Mitchell Trubisky talk. Not hating on it, just genuinely intrigued,” Michael Huff of Faceoff Sports Network tweeted.

“Not that I thought Trubisky would be back in Buffalo, but this confirms it. One and done as a backup with the Bills. Just too many QB-needy teams right now, especially teams that are not in full rebuilding mode,” Chris Owen of WYRK said.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz recently named the Commanders, Saints and Steelers as potential suitors for Trubisky.

If Miller’s report on Trubisky is true, there’ll be more than three teams interested in him this offseason.
