With the way wide receivers are being paid right now, Stefon Diggs‘ five-year, $72 million contract is a stone cold bargain.
Diggs signed the deal before the 2019 season, and he won’t hit free agency for another two years. That’s great news for the Bills, but a bummer for Diggs as he sees Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams and others resetting the market at his position.
Despite Diggs not being paid as much as some of his contemporaries, Bills general manager Brandon Beane isn’t worried about the Pro Bowl wideout being disgruntled.
“We’ve got Stefon for two years so we know that. At the right time we’ll work with his reps and see if there’s something to be done that works for him,” Beane said recently, via Pro Football Talk. “He’s a winner. He’s all in on winning and, sure, everybody wants to be paid but he wants to be on a winning team. I think he’s been the best version of himself. So I don’t see that being an issue.”
Brandon Beane appears in no hurry to do a Stefon Diggs contract extension.
I know that seems to worry many of #BillsMafia, but it doesn’t the #Bills GM.

Diggs is coming off his fourth-straight 1,000-yard season, and he scored a career-high 10 touchdowns in 2021. He’s proven himself to be one of the best (and most consistent) wide receivers in the league.
Eventually, it seems like the Bills are going to have to offer him a new contract extension. If Diggs puts together another strong season in 2022, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that offer come sooner rather than later.
