Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens didn’t hold back when talking about the referees following their playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills yesterday.
There were a few seemingly egregious calls that went against the Steelers during the game. But while many believe that it doesn’t make up for the 14-point gap in their 31-17 loss to Buffalo, Pickens feels that it was.
“Refs. Refs. Refs. That’s the only thing on my mind…You not going to win a game when you have to beat the Bills and the refs… That’s what I really feel happened to us today,” Pickens said, via Ari Meirov.
Pickens had five receptions for 50 yards on 11 targets in yesterday’s game. He also had a fumble.
But NFL fans aren’t buying Pickens’ outrage:

“The refs make you fumble George?” one user wondered.
“refs made them give up 400 yards apparently. also why rudolph had 6 yards per attempt,” wrote another.
“Damn did the Refs force you to fumble? Did they also force you to allow 21-straight points? Take SOME accountability lmao,” a third wrote.
They may have a point there. The Steelers had a lot of issues on Monday and the referees are at worst one item on a list of many.
