Power rankings: ESPN slots Buffalo Bills in No. 3 spot

In ESPN‘s latest 2021 team power rankings from the end of the preseason, the Bills are named the third-best team in the NFL.

As has become an annual tradition of such polls throughout the summer without any real football happening, the Bills are behind two familiar teams.

The Chiefs are named the former world-wide leader’s top team in the NFL currently. They edge out the defending champion Buccaneers at No. 2.

No surprise there since the last real football game we saw, the Super Bowl, it featured these two sides.

All throughout the offseason, national media outlets have mostly picked those two at the top of power ranking polls. The Chiefs and Bucs has been pretty interchangeable, though.

Still, the Bills have gotten plenty of respect, landing at the No. 3 position plenty of times. ESPN even did so in their most-recent rankings before this one, which came following the 2021 NFL draft.

In terms of the AFC East, there’s plenty of reason to smile as well.

The Dolphins are the second-best team in the division in this ESPN poll, but they’re all the way back at No. 16. They edge out the Patriots at No. 17.

The lowly Jets roundout the AFC East at No. 30.
